Multimodal transport

Multimodal transport

You are shipping a painting to Berlin: should you choose the plane or the truck?

You are lending a Dubuffet sculpture to Sao Paulo: will you choose the plane or the boat?

Between Paris and Sydney, should I change planes in Frankfurt or Singapore?

Whether by truck, by plane, by boat, or even by train for a small piece of work in accompanied luggage, each mode of transport has its advantages and sometimes its disadvantages.

The best choice will have taken into account:

-the nature of the work and its size when packed;
-means of transport between the points of origin and destination;
-possible itineraries ;
-the time available to carry out the operation;
-the presence or absence of a conveyor.

The preliminary evaluation of these constraints is essential to avoid surprises. Case by case, our role is to advise you to decide together.

How to evaluate the constraints of transportation?

Art transport: discretion by nature

LP Art is a recognized leader in art transportation and logistics in France and abroad. This success is due above all to the unfailing dedication of the men and women who make up our teams. Every day, we work with works of inestimable and irreplaceable value. Our operations are therefore based on absolute confidence in our teams.

Every day, LP Art's driver-installers work in museums, art galleries, foundations and private collections. What all our customers have in common is that the products they entrust to us must be of the highest quality. Every day, our teams encounter highly demanding situations with clients who expect them to be unfailingly efficient, to take the initiative adapted to each situation, and to maintain absolute discretion.

Our team leaders in the field are great professionals, ready to listen and reassure you, and able to anticipate your needs and requirements.

For obvious reasons, in the field of private removals, we do not indicate our references on our website.

Road transport

LP ART has a fleet of trucks that criss-cross the roads of France.

In 2023, a brand-new high-rise truck (19Tonnes and 55m3) will complete our transport offering, enabling us to transport works of art and crates up to 3 metres high.

In addition to the works to be transported and moved, a veritable team of installers has to be moved to accompany the works of art.

In 2022, we have invested in 5 fully electric mini-buses to replace the previous fleet: this investment will save 12 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Of course, our trucks comply with the latest anti-pollution standards, and our drivers are trained in eco-driving to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible.

AIRPORT ASSISTANCE

Air transport is becoming more and more complex. Security constraints are becoming more and more stringent. Airports are congested. Companies do not hesitate to modify their flights or change aircraft at the last minute. Fares are so disparate that, for the same flight and the same seat, you can find tickets ranging from one to six times.

How to ensure that a given shipment is correctly "palletized" and loaded on the planned flight with its conveyor? How can we help the courier to fulfill his mission in the most favorable conditions? Can we be sure that a piece of work in accompanied baggage will be accepted on board?

Supervising all these operations and guiding the courier is a real assistance service to which LP ART takes the greatest care. Although difficult to measure, it requires perfect mastery of air transport and the mobilization of significant resources on site, at Roissy or Orly. In concrete terms, this means men and vehicles, and a lot of time spent in the passenger, freight and traffic areas...

How to assist the courier and supervise the departures or arrivals?

Perfect coordination

To transport works of art, and in particular exhibitions, we have to manage a succession of operations in a short time and within a defined budget. We regularly use several modes of transport, and work in collaboration with a number of different parties. This requires perfect coordination.

Coordination is therefore a job in its own right, involving the assessment, planning and management of this multitude of movements.

At LP ART, your contact is the "coordinator". He accompanies you from order to invoice. In concrete terms, the "coordinator" makes appointments, orders the manufacture of crates, draws up a packing list, issues the various working and transport documents, draws up schedules, prepares customs and Fine Arts files, reserves freight, and maintains permanent contact with lenders, borrowers and foreign correspondents.

3 key factors :

> Knowledge of all aspects of the business

> A rigorous method

> Good technical and IT tools
